The international activities of the Department of Ethnology and Archaeology are carried out in two directions – archaeology and ethnology. Archaeological cooperation takes place within the framework of the international Ukrainian-Polish archaeological expedition of the Faculty of History, Political Science and International Relations of the Vasyl Stefanyk Precarpathian National University (senior lecturer Kochkin I.T.), the Institute of Archaeology of the NAS of Ukraine (Fastiv Archaeological Expedition) and the Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznan. Joint work is carried out within the framework of the grant – Grant Narodowego Centrum Nauki: “Bukivna – elitarna nekropolia kultury komarowskiej nad Dniestrem”. Sygnatura.

Head of the Department Tomenchuk B.P. closely cooperates with foreign archaeologists. In particular, together with scientists from the University of Zagreb (Croatia), scientific work is being conducted on the topic “Three Medieval Croatias and the Paths of Their Migration to the Balkans”. The problem of ethnocultural and ethnopolitical processes in the East Carpathian region in the context of natural and climatic changes in Europe (Neolithic – Late Middle Ages) is being developed together with archaeologists from the University of Suceava (Romania).
International cooperation in the field of ethnology has been ongoing for a long time on the joint Ukrainian-Polish project “Huculszczyzna – antropologiczneobszarypamięci” (2014-2018), which involves teachers of the Department of Ethnology (Candidate of History, Assoc. Prof. Kostyuchok P.L.) and Archaeology and researchers of the Institute of Ethnology and Cultural Anthropology of the University of Warsaw. Its goal is to study the ethnography of the Hutsuls, collect field materials as a result of ethnographic expeditions, and publish joint scientific works.
