The Head of the Department of Ethnology and Archeology, Professor Mykola Vasylovich Kugutyak was awarded a diploma by the Supreme Archbishop of Kyiv-Halych, His Beatitude Sviatoslav Shevchuk for many years of work on the creation of the monograph “Hoshyv Yasna Gora Monastery of the Mother of God on Yasna Gora in the Carpathians”, which reveals “the cultural and historical phenomenon of one of the greatest shrines, the pearl of the Carpathian region – the Hoshyv Monastery. This work is especially relevant now, and during the cruel war with the Russian occupier, who denies our centuries-old history and culture, depriving us of the right to exist” – the diploma states.
The high award was presented on December 23, 2025 at the Academic Council of the KNUVD by the rector Valentina Yakubiv and Father Josaphat Boyko, rector of the Church of Saints Cyril and Methodius of the UGCC.
